One of my favorite things about living in San Diego is all of the beautiful locations for weddings. Julie and Mike’s wedding at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was no exception.
From the very beginning of their relationship, there was a sweetness and a sincerity that made them both realize that this relationship was special. Although they came from two very different majors, Mike in music and Julie in special education, they fell in love quickly. Julie and Mike dated for a while, moved in together, and adopted a dog named Hiro. When Mike took Julie to Lake Tahoe on another one of their many adventures, she had no idea that he would be proposing at the top of Inspiration Point. She said yes with all the love in her heart and the wedding planning began.
I first met these two after a few phone calls when we decided to book their engagement session at Balboa Park in downtown San Diego. I had the pleasure of getting to know them both and to really see their personalities shine through. Julie loves to laugh and is outgoing, while Mike is a bit more on the reserved side but is very doting on Julie. We had a fantastic time during our session, took some gorgeous photos, and I even got to meet Hiro!
The morning of their wedding, I was greeted by a huge bridal party at Julies parents ocean front home in Ocean Beach. Champagne was everywhere and the girls were having a blast. I loved all the pink, and all of the gorgeous details of her getting ready. Her bridesmaids were the sweetest and her parents were over the top fantastic people.
Julie and Mike’s ceremony and reception took place at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse in Downtown San Diego, and oh my gosh what a venue! From the ceremony site outside to the reception hall with giant bay windows overlooking the bay, this place was amazing. The food was off the charts, the speeches were emotional, and the party was non stop. Congratulations to these newlyweds.
