abby about me

I live my life in between my love affair with my morning coffee and my (almost) nightly glass of pinot noir. My very best friend in the world is my super handsome husband with whom I share two amazing babies with. I am a photographer, a wanna be chef, a mom-prenuer, a barefoot beach goer, and a sci-fy movie enthusiast. We only have one life to live, I believe in doing what makes you happiest and surrounding yourself with people who make time slow down.

I like cleaning my house with all the doors and windows open while I blast music. Before children I would drive with my windows up and music on so I could ( in all my tone deaf glory ) sing at the top of my lungs.....which has now been replaced to singing my ABC's and Wheels on the Bus pretty much on constant repeat. I listen to all kinds of music. I like everything from Rihanna, to The Beatles, to U2, to Kenny Chesney. One of the only artists I will actively avoid listening to is Kanye West because I think he is a tool and just like his wife and her family, is famous for some reason I can't understand.

I believe in the law of attraction, I think it is so very very real. I believe in relationships, and I think you will only get back from people a fraction of what you are willing to give. So always be willing to give more, do more, and care more. And be okay with that. I think the world would be a much better place if everyone was willing to be more of something without an expectation of return. Life is a beautiful gift, and the longer I have kids, the shorter I realize life is. Enjoy it, embrace it, and be appreciative of it.

My photography style is candid, romantic, and fun. I'm more interested in creating a beautiful scene for you to live out the moments of your day authentically, rather than intervening and making you say "cheese". I will guide you through the photo taking process with ease, and don't worry, I won't let that piece of hair stick straight out the top of your head!  I believe that my job is part photographer, part director. I absolutely love the look of a candid photo, but not all candid moments are photo beautiful... so sometimes to create a beautiful image that has the "candid" look, I will move you into a pose or give you a direction or movement. blah looking photos come from stiff people holding a pose or a smile that isn't authentic. I want you to look like you and have true emotions on your face- but not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera or instantly feels awkward. This is true for me as well. I will work with you to make sure your experience in front of my lens is a good one from start to finish.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. what you have caught on film is captured forever. it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
